The CompuLab Nursing Information System manages clinical data in a wide
variety of healthcare environments and allows nursing staff to provide
and access accurate, timely information to enhance and improve patient
care with less time. The following features of the CompuLab NIS are a
few of the ways these tasks are accomplished.
Recurring Orders
Each user tailors the patient Kardex to the particular needs of the nursing
unit and/or ancillary department. The system accommodates hourly, weekly
and monthly orders as well as BID, TID, QID, PRN and user-defined
standing orders.
Cumulative Summary Reports
Whether by individual discipline, caregiver or patient, a complete chart
summary can be obtained at any time, from any workstation, with minimal
keystrokes.

Bedside Real-Time Charting
Vital Signs, Admission Assessments, Nursing Assessments, Intake/Output,
Patient Education Records, Nurse/Physician Notes, Medication Administration
Records, Care Plans and any user-designed documents can be quickly and
easily maintained on the system.

Treatment Flowsheets
Since the system is highly customized by the user, flowsheets are
developed and enhanced by each unit to represent the most efficient
documentation for the caregiver.

Critical Pathways
An unlimited number of Critical Pathways may be designed by the user for
each area of service within the facility. Once in place, the Critical
Pathway is monitored by the system and full documentation of compliance
or variance to the plan is available at any time. There is also a full
complement of management reports available for periodic evaluation of
standard care plans.

Clinical Data Integration
Treatments, Laboratory Results, Respiratory Therapy notes and patient care
documentation are fully integrated into the patient's electronic chart
automatically by user-defined parameters. Standard orders are built into
each Care Plan and may be modified by the user at any time.

Online Patient Census
The Nursing Units' detailed room census is available at any workstation
and may be printed with a single keystroke.

Management Reports
Charting deficiencies, shift reports, Patient Acuity and Care Plan
Variances by DRG are just a few of the reports available from the
extensive library of Management and Quality Assurance Reportes.
